Atkinson, NH – On Sunday, October 11, 2026, shortly after 1:00 p.m., New Hampshire Fish and Game Department Conservation Officers were notified of an ATV accident that had occurred on private property in Atkinson, NH. The operator involved was identified as Caden Berube, 21, of Atkinson.

Upon arriving at the scene, a Conservation Officer met with two other riders who were riding with Berube. Berube had already been transported from the scene by the Atkinson Fire Department and taken to Merrimack Health Center in Lawrence, MA, via ambulance for further evaluation and treatment of severe but non-life threatening injuries.

The responding Conservation Officer investigated and determined Berube was operating on a small backyard track when he went off a jump and failed to maintain control of the ATV, and when the ATV made contact with the ground the impact caused the ATV to tip on its side.

New Hampshire Fish and Game would like to remind all riders to be cautious when operating an OHRV and to take factors such as operating experience, weather conditions, elevation change, and time of day into consideration, and to always wear appropriate safety gear.
