Gorham – At 11:00 A.M. on Sunday, February 17, a woman was injured when she collided with a tree after as a result of operating off the groomed portion of Corridor 19. Jennifer Topping, 38, of Lowell, MA had intentionally driven her snowmobile off of the maintained section of trail when she drove into a ditch which caused her to swerve into the woods, leading to the collision. A member of her riding party came to her aid, and placed a call to 911. Upon receiving word of the incident, Gorham EMS and Gorham FD responded to the scene by UTV to transport her to a waiting ambulance. Due to the nature of her injury, she was transported to Androscoggin Valley Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

The operator was wearing a helmet, inattention and inexperience is considered the primary cause of the crash.
