Hiker Assisted on Old Bridle Path

Franconia, NH– At 4:46 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department was notified of a distressed hiker on Garfield Ridge. The hiker, Laamima Faisal, 21, of Monroe Township, NJ, had suffered a minor injury and was also extremely fatigued. Based on the information, Fish and Game Conservation Officers responded to the Old Bridle Path to evaluate and provide assistance.

Faisal was helped by Good Samaritan hikers along Garfield Ridge and down the Greenleaf Trail to the Greenleaf Hut. She continued down Old Bridle Path and met with Conservation Officers at 8:10 p.m., just below the hut. Faisal and the rescue party descended approximately 2.25 miles down the Old Bridle Path, reaching the trailhead safely at 11:38 p.m.
