Berlin, NH – On Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 11:23 a.m., New Hampshire Fish and Game was notified of an ATV crash with injuries in Berlin. A juvenile male from New Bedford, Massachusetts, was operating on the Moose Road Trail in Berlin at the time of the crash. The juvenile drove over a series of rocks in the trail, causing him to lose control of his ATV. As a result, the juvenile and the ATV collided with a tree on the left side of the trail. Subsequently, the ATV rolled on top of the juvenile.
The juvenile was riding with a family member at the time of the crash. Immediately following the crash, the family member removed the ATV from the pinned juvenile and rendered aid. Good Samaritans on the trail stopped and immediately placed a 911 phone call requesting help.
A response from Fish and Game Conservation Officers, Berlin Fire and EMS, and Berlin Police Department began. The juvenile was ultimately transported by ambulance to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin for further evaluation of his injuries.
Through the investigation, it was discovered that the juvenile did not possess a valid OHRV safety card.
Conservation Officers would like to remind OHRV enthusiasts that state law requires that all operators 12 years of age and over must possess either a valid Motor Vehicle Driver’s License or have successfully completed an approved OHRV or Snowmobile Safety Education Class when operating off their own property.
This crash remains under investigation.
