Hebron, NH – On Saturday, February 7, at 12:40 p.m., Conservation Officers were notified of a snowmobile collision, with injury, on Corridor 24 in Hebron.

A Conservation Officer patrolling on snowmobile was diverted from patrolling the Great Meredith Rotary Fishing Derby to Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth where the operator had been transported by the Hebron Fire Department.

The operator was identified as Charleen Gosson, 56, of Windham, NH. Gosson was operating her snowmobile eastbound on Corridor 24 in Hebron when her ski struck a rock which caused the machine to accelerate quickly throwing Gosson from the snowmobile and off the trail and into a group of trees. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash.

Conservation Officers would like to remind the snowmobiling public to always use caution; trail conditions can vary quickly. Always familiarize yourself with snowmobile operation before you ride and always wear a helmet. For more information on snowmobile safety visit wildlife.nh.gov.
