Jaffrey, NH – On August 7, 2025 at 1:27 p.m., New Hampshire Fish and Game was notified by Southwestern New Hampshire District Fire Mutual Aid about an injured hiker on the White Cross Trail in Monadnock State Park. The victim, Robin Bromley, 42, of Moosup, CT, was hiking solo when she suffered an ankle injury during a fall. Passersby made a call to 911 and waited with Bromley until rescuers arrived.
Department of Natural and Cultural Resources Mountain Patrol Rangers, Conservation Officers, and volunteers from Upper Valley Wilderness Response Team responded to the White Cross Trail. Bromley was located at approximately 2,400 feet of elevation. After receiving medical attention, Bromley was placed in a litter and carried down to the trailhead at Monadnock State Park Headquarters, arriving at the trailhead at 5:11 p.m. Bromley refused ambulance transportation and was transported from the State Park in a personal vehicle.
