Freedom, NH – Shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2025, Carol Woods, 65, of Moultonborough, NH, was descending the Chimney Trail on a snow machine. She inadvertently hit the throttle and collided with a tree. The collision resulted in serious but non-life-threatening injuries. She was able to call 911 for assistance.
Along with Conservation Officers, members of Freedom Fire and Rescue, the Freedom Police Department, and Action Ambulance responded. Freedom Fire was able to reach Woods’s location using a tracked side by side. They stabilized her injuries and transported her out in a rescue sled. She reached the waiting ambulance shortly before 4:00 p.m. and was transported to Portsmouth Hospital for treatment.
