Harts Location, NH – On Sunday, September 3, 2023, shortly before 3:00 p.m., Jennifer Lambert, 46, of Millbury, MA, was descending the Arethusa Falls Trail when she slipped and injured her knee. A passing hiker was able to send a text message from further down the trail notifying rescuers of the incident. No contact could be made with Lambert or her hiking partner.

Along with Conservation Officers, members of Bartlett / Jackson Ambulance Service responded. In the time it took rescuers to reach her, Lambert was able to make progress descending the trail, she had stabilized the injury with a brace. She was provided with a pair of crutches and was able to make it to the trailhead under her own power. She arrived at the trailhead shortly before 5:00 p.m.
