Wilmot, NH – On Friday, June 16, at approximately 1:37 p.m., Conservation Officers were notified of an injured hiker on the Barlow Trail on Mount Kearsarge. Conservation Officers responded to the scene and hiked nearly one mile to the victim who was identified as Larry Samberg, 71, of Southborough, MA.

Samberg suffered non-life threatening injuries after slipping on wet rocks as he descended the trail. Rescue crews carried Samberg off the mountain, arriving at the trailhead at 3:57 p.m.

Fire Department personnel from Wilmot, Sutton, Andover, New London, and Warner, along with the Wilmot Police Department and New London Hospital EMS, assisted with the carry out. Samberg was taken by a family member to have his injury evaluated at a local hospital.
