Columbia, NH – On Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at approximately 5:53 p.m., NH State Police and NH Fish and Game were notified of a man with cognitive issues missing in Columbia. He had been last seen leaving his house on foot at approximately 12:49 p.m. Androscoggin Valley Search and Rescue, Colebrook Police Department, State Police, and Conservation Officers responded to the residence to begin a search for the missing man.
With nightfall approaching, multiple teams were deployed, including a New Hampshire Fish and Game K9 team. These teams worked the area around the residence in an attempt to locate the individual.
At approximately 8:32 p.m., Conservation Officer Eric Fluette and K9 Moxie were able to locate the individual. He was found in thick woods approximately half a mile from his residence. He was identified as David Moren 70, of Columbia. Moren was able to walk with searchers back to his residence, where he was evaluated by 45th Parallel EMS personnel.
Moren was found to be in good physical condition and was subsequently release to the care of his family.
