Injured Hiker

Waterville Valley, NH – On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, shortly after 1:30 p.m., New Hampshire Fish and Game was notified that a hiker had suffered a knee injury on the Sabbaday Falls Trail. The hiker was identified as Erin Reuthe, 37, of Claremont, NH. Conservation Officers and members of Conway Fire and Rescue responded and located her less than a half mile from the trailhead.

She was treated and attempted to walk on her own but was not able to. She was placed in a litter and taken to the trailhead. Reuthe arrived at the trailhead shortly before 3:30 p.m. and was taken by ambulance to seek treatment.
