Columbia, NH – On Monday, July 20, at 5:38 p.m., New Hampshire Fish and Game was notified of an UTV crash with injuries in Columbia.
The operator was identified as Salvatore Latina, 46, of Winstead, CT. Latina was operating on Kelsey Notch Road at the time of the crash. Latina was navigating a downhill section of trail when he lost control of his UTV causing it to roll multiple times. Latina was injured as a result of the crash, but his juvenile passenger was uninjured. Both parties were wearing their seat belts, which were crucial to minimizing their injuries.
A response by Colebrook Fire Department, 45th Parallel EMS, and a New Hampshire Fish and Game Department Conservation Officer began. Latina was ultimately transported by ambulance to Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook for further evaluation of his injuries.
Conservation Officers would like to remind OHRV enthusiasts state law requires that all operators and passengers 17 years of age and under must wear a helmet while on, or in an OHRV.
This crash remains under investigation at this time.
