Pittsburg, NH – At approximately 7:20 p.m., on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, a juvenile was operating a snowmobile on Trail 146 in Pittsburg as part of a pair of snowmobiles. It was reported that the operator was attempting to make a downhill, left-hand turn when they failed to negotiate the turn and dropped off a steep embankment, approximately 10 feet into a small brook. The operator sustained non-life-threatening injuries in the crash.

After the crash, the group of two had to leave the crashed snowmobile and travel to the closest camp to make a call to 911, on one snowmobile. Pittsburg Fire Rescue, 45th Parallel EMS, and a Conservation Officer responded to the camp. 45th Parallel EMS rendered aid to the juvenile and then transported both of them to Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook.

It appears that inexperience and unreasonable speed for the existing conditions were factors in this crash.
