North Conway, NH – On Sunday, September 6, shortly after 6:00 p.m., New Hampshire Fish and Game was notified that a hiker was injured on the North Moat Trail. The hiker was Heather O’Donnell, 56, of Milton, MA. She was hiking with her husband and two children, and they were over a mile from the trailhead when she severely injured her lower leg. Her husband was able to place a call to 911 for assistance.

Along with Conservation Officers, rescuers from North Conway Fire and the US Forest Service responded. O’Donnell was placed in a litter and carried out to the trailhead. She arrived back at the trailhead shortly before 8:00 p.m. and was transported by ambulance to the Memorial Hospital in North Conway for treatment.
