Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department will hold a public meeting on proposed season dates and bag limits for the 2020-2021 waterfowl hunting season on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at 6:00 p.m., at the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department’s headquarters, 11 Hazen Drive in Concord, NH. Comments made at the meeting will be considered in finalizing New Hampshire’s 2020-2021 waterfowl season dates. If you cannot attend the meeting but would like to provide comments, please email them to comments@wildlife.nh.gov using the subject line “Waterfowl Season Setting.” Written comments will be accepted and considered through April 3, 2020.

New Hampshire’s proposed waterfowl season dates are very similar to last year’s. The overall duck season is 60 days, with a daily bag limit of 6 birds. The regular goose season (determined by population status of North Atlantic Population (NAP) Canada geese will also be similar to last year with a 60-day season and a 2-bird daily bag limit.

Proposed waterfowl seasons include:

  • The proposed Northern Zone season for ducks, mergansers, coots, and Canada geese would open on October 2 and run through November 30, 2020.
  • The proposed Inland & Connecticut River Zone season for ducks, mergansers, coots, and Canada geese would open on October 6 and run through November 8, then reopen November 17 through December 12, 2020.
  • The proposed Coastal Zone season for ducks, mergansers, coots, and Canada geese would open on October 7 and run through October 18, then reopen November 17, 2020 through January 3, 2021.
  • The proposed sea duck season would open on November 18, 2020 and run through January 16, 2021.
