Stewartstown, NH – On Sunday, March 1 at approximately 9:30 a.m., Fish and Game Conservation Officers received a 911 call for a single person snowmobile crash next to the parking lot of the L&L Riverside Inn in Stewartstown. Conservation Officers and 45th Parallel Ambulance personnel responded to the scene to assist the patient, identified as Hedwig Palazzolo, age 55, of New Britain, CT.

Upon investigation, officers determined that while attempting to cross over the top of a snowbank next to the parking lot to meet the rest of her riding party, Palazzolo accidentally struck the throttle and lost control of her machine. The snowmobile rolled on top of her, trapping her underneath. A member of her riding party immediately called 911. EMS personnel responded to the scene and later brought Palazzolo to Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital (UCVH) in Colebrook for treatment of her serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers concluded that operator inexperience was the primary factor in the crash. Drugs and alcohol were not a factor in this crash.
