CONCORD, NH — Cheri Patterson, Acting Marine Division Chief at the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, has been promoted to Chief. She will take over the position following the retirement of Douglas Grout in November of 2019. Patterson has been at the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department in various positions for over 40 years and has a wide range of experience.
Patterson served as the Supervisor of Marine Programs since 2008 where she was responsible for managing the various programs in the Marine Division and serving on a variety of marine fisheries committees. In her new role, Patterson will serve as chief administrator of the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department’s Region 3 office, develop proposed regulations and rules to protect the state’s marine resources and habitats, and serve as the representative from New Hampshire on various regional and national boards.
“I am very pleased to announce this promotion,” said Fish and Game Executive Director Glenn Normandeau. “I have known Cheri for many years, she is exceptionally qualified for this position and we are lucky to have her as an asset at the agency. I know she will do well in her new role.”
Patterson started her tenure as a Biological Aide I at Fish and Game in the Marine Division and worked her way up. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the University of New Hampshire in 1996.
