Pittsburg, NH – At approximately 3:50 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, a Conservation Officer on snowmobile patrol encountered the scene of a single-vehicle snowmobile crash on Trail 142 in the area of Spooner Hill. The injured operator of the snowmobile was identified as Jessica Beaulieu, 46, of Canterbury. Investigation at the scene indicated that Beaulieu lost control of the snowmobile she was operating while negotiating a series of corners. The machine traveled a short distance into the soft snow off the right edge of the trail where it struck a tree, resulting in a non-life-threatening injury.
Beaulieu was wearing proper safety equipment at the time of the crash, including a helmet and eye protection. She declined medical help and chose to seek medical attention on her own. She was transported from the scene by a fellow rider in her group. The machine involved sustained damage to its front suspension area and was driven from the scene to the nearest road by a member of the group. Alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
