Meredith, NH – On Friday, February 7, 2020, at 9:07 p.m., Meredith Fire Department, Center Harbor Fire Department, Stewart’s Ambulance Service, Meredith Police Department and NH Fish and Game Department responded to a report of a snowmobile that had crashed into a bobhouse.
First responders arrived on scene to find fishermen assisting the snowmobile operator with walking off the ice from the area just north of Pine Island in Meredith on Lake Winnipesaukee. The operator was identified to be Peter Gosselin of Goffstown, NH, who refused medical treatment. Gosselin was subsequently arrested by the Meredith Police Department for Driving While Intoxicated and Operating after Suspension.
The investigation revealed that two adults were in the bobhouse when the snowmobile struck the side of the building at a high rate of speed. Miraculously, both subjects inside the house at the time of the crash were untouched. The snowmobile and bobhouse both sustained major damage. The bobhouse did have the required reflective material on all four sides and had an exterior light illuminated at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
