Stewartstown, NH – On Saturday, February 8 at approximately 2:30 p.m., Fish and Game received a call for a single-person snowmobile crash on Corridor 5 in Stewartstown near Big Diamond Pond. Conservation Officers, DHART, 45th Parallel Ambulance, and Colebrook Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the scene to assist the patient, identified as Nicholas Hajjar of Norwood, Massachusetts. Upon investigation, officers learned that Hajjar got stuck in a snow-filled ditch next to the trail and when trying to get out, lost control of his machine and was thrown into a tree. Mr. Hajjar was transported to the ambulance to meet with the DHART helicopter to be airlifted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, but due to weather, DHART was unable to land. Later, Mr. Hajjar was transported to DHMC by 45th Parallel ambulance with severe but non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash is still under investigation by authorities, but alcohol and drugs do not seem to be a factor. NH Fish and Game would like to remind riders to always maintain control of their machines and be mindful of all existing trail conditions.
