CONCORD, NH – New Hampshire’s Becoming an Outdoors Woman Program (BOW) is offering an exciting lineup of courses throughout 2020 for women who are interested in learning new outdoor skills. Application forms and brochures are published at www.nhbow.com when registration opens for each class. Sign up as soon as possible after each program’s registration opens as courses fill quickly.

Winter BOW – February 22: This one-day winter workshop allows women to experience ice fishing, snowshoeing and wildlife tracking, winter outdoor survival, or “’Shoe and Shoot,” which is woodland target shooting on snowshoes. The event will be held at Owl Brook Hunter Education Center in Holderness, NH. The cost is $80. Registration opens January 10.

Beyond BOW: Ice Fishing Alumnae Event – March 7: Former BOW Ice Fishing participants are invited to join some of our instructors for another day out on the ice revisiting previously developed skills and learning some new techniques and strategies. Cost and location to be determined. Registration opens later in January.

Beyond BOW: Deep Sea Fishing Adventure – June 2020, date to be determined: Enjoy a day of deep-sea fishing adventure aboard The Yellowbird out of Hampton, NH. Cost to be determined by charter rate. Registration opens in April.

Beyond BOW: Backpacking Weekend – June 26-28: Join us for a two-night backpacking weekend in Holderness, NH, and try your hand at camp set-up, hiking, outdoor cooking, and more. Cost: To be determined. Registration opens in April.

BOW Fall Weekend – September 11-13: This is the New Hampshire Becoming an Outdoors Woman Program’s biggest event of the year, held at Rockywold-Deephaven Camps in Holderness, NH. Participants choose four workshops to take throughout the weekend. Class focuses include: fishing, shooting sports, hiking, outdoor cooking, hunting, map and compass, kayaking, paddle boarding, sharing nature with children, and more. The weekend’s fee includes all meals and two nights lodging, plus instruction, and equipment use. Scholarship applications will be available beginning April 15. General registration opens June 3.

Beyond BOW: Women Land Owner’s Day – September 26: Interested in learning about responsible land management? In this one-day course at Owl Brook Hunter Education Center, in Holderness, NH, participants will become famil¬iar with the wildlife they may come into contact with on their land and how to safely foster habitat for it, as well as simple chainsaw/power tool safety and use. The cost is $80. Registration opens August 24.

Beyond BOW: Introduction to Firearm Deer Hunting – October 17: Are you taking up deer hunting? Spend a day learning the basics you need to start deer hunting in New Hampshire in time for deer season. Held at Owl Brook Hunter Education Center, in Holderness, NH, participants will learn about masking scent, finding deer, and much more! The cost is $80. Registration opens September 19.
