Dixville, NH – On Saturday, December 21, 2019 at approximately 10:00 a.m. NH Fish and Game received a call about a snowmobile crash on the Corridor 18 snowmobile trail in the Town of Dixville. Conservation Officers, State Police, 45th Parallel Ambulance, DHART, and Colebrook Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the scene to assist the patient, identified as Steve Picarillo, 53, of Salem, NH.

Upon investigation, officers found that when coming around a corner, Picarillo failed to adjust to the changing trail conditions, hit a bump, and was thrown from his snowmobile. Picarillo was wearing a helmet and alcohol was not a contributing factor in the crash. The patient was air-lifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. NH Fish and Game would like to remind riders to always operate within their limits and always be mindful of trail conditions, especially early in the snowmobiling season.
