CONCORD, NH – Registration is now open for the Let’s Go Fishing Program’s winter lineup of fly tying courses to be held throughout the Granite State in January and February of 2020. With a variety of hands-on events scheduled from the White Mountains to the seacoast, there’s an opportunity for both beginner and intermediate participants to learn the techniques that will make the art of fly tying personally rewarding and exciting.

“These free educational programs are led by trained instructors, and are a great way to stay connected with fly fishing in the winter months and remain engaged with the outdoors,” said Kyle Glencross program coordinator of the Let’s Go Fishing Program.

Online pre-registration for these free workshops is required and is first-come, first-served. Participants must commit to attending all sessions. These courses are limited to 12 participants, age 15 and older, and all program materials and tools are provided.

“All attendees will learn to tie fly patterns that are commonly used in New Hampshire waters. Beginners will be introduced to the use of all the basic tools and materials necessary to tie flies and learn what the patterns imitate. For those with a few years of experience, the intermediate workshops focus on more advanced techniques and patterns and incorporate more materials,” said Let’s Go Fishing instructor, master fly tier, and author Scott Biron, who will be leading some of the classes.

No experience is necessary for the beginner classes, however because the intermediate class moves at a rapid pace, the programming is best suited for individuals who have taken the introductory course and have been tying on a regular basis. Intermediate participants are encouraged to bring their own tools and vice if they prefer.

“No matter your experience, these classes are the perfect way to develop new skills and improve existing techniques—and they make the off season pass much faster,” concluded Biron.
