Gorham, NH – At approximately 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 29, 2019, a woman and child sustained serious injuries when the woman crashed the ATV she was operating. Nichole Page, 48, of Storrs, CT, was operating an ATV with her passenger, a 12-year-old male, also of Storrs, CT, northbound on the Presidential Rail Trail when the incident occurred. The crash happened on a straight section of trail when Page experienced a sudden loss of control leading to the ATV flipping forward, throwing the two passengers onto the ground.

Members of her riding party immediately came to their aid, placing a 911 call for medical assistance. Upon receiving word of the incident, Gorham Fire Department, Gorham EMS, and a Conservation Officer responded to the scene. Due to the nature of their injuries and the nature of crash, they were transported by ambulance to Androscoggin Valley Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Operator and passenger were wearing helmets and eye protection; equipment malfunction is considered the primary cause of the crash.
