Franconia, NH – At approximately 4:22 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019, New Hampshire Fish and Game Officers responded to a report of a female hiker having a medical emergency on the Kinsman Ridge Trail in Franconia. Monica Michalsky, 73, of Meredith, New Hampshire, was hiking down the Kinsman Ridge trail from the summit of Cannon Mountain when she suffered a medical emergency leaving her unable to walk or move under her own power. Conservation Officers responded to Cannon Mountain and the Kinsman Ridge trail along with numerous volunteers from PEMI Valley Search and Rescue team and Franconia Police Department to assist in the carryout. She was carried down the trail and arrived at the parking lot at 6:10 p.m.
