Jaffrey, NH – On July 13, 2019 at 11:15 am, Monadnock State Park staff and New Hampshire Fish and Game responded to a call for an injured hiker near the summit of Mount Monadnock on the White Dot Trail. Lynn Hadley (67) of Norristown, Pennsylvania, had just summited the mountain and was beginning her descent when she slipped and fell, sustained a head injury. Hadley was evaluated by Monadnock Park Staff Emergency Medical Technicians and assisted, on foot, to an ambulance that was staged at the Old Toll Road, a shorter route off the mountain. As seen on many Mount Monadnock rescues, the effort was complimented by citizen volunteers that started their day as hikers and ended it by being part of a rescue operation.
The Dartmouth Hitchcock Advanced Response Team helicopter (DHART) also responded to assist in the event that Hadley needed to be evacuated by air. Hadley was transported to Monadnock Community Hospital by Jaffrey Rindge Memorial Ambulance for treatment of her injuries.
