CONCORD, NH –The New Hampshire Becoming an Outdoors Woman Program (BOW) presents “Cook Like a Wild Woman,” on July 13, 2019, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Great Bay Discovery Center in Greenland, NH. If you are curious about cooking over an open fire, discovering wild edibles, or want to know what provisions to pack for your next camping trip, then this is the culinary experience for you!

Led by BOW and Hunter Education instructors, this workshop will explore a wilder approach to meal preparation including introductory foraging skills, small game and turkey processing, oyster and razor clam harvesting, quick pickling, and more. A hands-on learning experience, participants will develop abilities that will benefit them in the wild—or in the kitchen.

To sign up, go to nhbow.com, where you will be directed to the event registration page. After registering online, print, fill out, and mail in all the requested forms with payment by June 21, 2019.

The workshop fee of $70 is due with registration and includes instruction, program materials, use of some equipment, and lunch. Registration is limited to 20 participants. A fishing license is not required during scheduled class time.

Beyond BOW workshops are in-depth sessions designed to expand on the offerings of the traditional Becoming an Outdoors Woman programs, helping women gain the skills needed to participate in outdoor activities on their own.

The New Hampshire Becoming an Outdoors Woman program is co-sponsored by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department (www.wildnh.com) and the New Hampshire Wildlife Federation (www.nhwf.org).
