Berlin, NH – At approximately 11:05 AM on Sunday, a call was received for an ATV rollover on the Pipe Line Trail in Jericho State Park.

A youth from Baiting Hollow NY, was the sole operator accompanied by an adult, when they fell off while trying to navigate rocky terrain. The youth as the second rider in a group of two was treated by good Samaritans traveling in the other direction who performed basic first aid as they waited on the trail for the first rider to return.

A call was made from the trail to 911 which was relayed to Berlin Dispatch. Berlin Fire Department, Berlin EMS, and Conservation Officers responded to the call. Berlin Fire Department and Berlin EMS met with the youth on the scene where they met, treated, and transported the youth to an awaiting ambulance using a rescue UTV. The youth was then relayed to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin. Conservation Officers met the youth at AVH while they were receiving medical attention for non-life-threating injuries.

Conservation officers would like to remind riders to wear helmets and eye protection as it helped limit serious injury in this accident.

Inexperience with rocky terrain was the leading factor in the crash.
