Gorham, NH – In late afternoon on Sunday, March 17, a woman sustained serious injuries after crashing the snowmobile she was operating on Bear Spring Trail.

At 5:25 p.p., Inna Getsin, 37, of Owings Falls, MD struck a tree when she lost control while navigating a turn. As a result of colliding with the tree, Getsin was thrown from the snowmobile and returned to the trail under her own power. Members of her riding party came to her aid and placed a call to 911.

Upon receiving word of the crash, Gorham EMS, a USFS Ranger, and a Conservation Officer responded to the scene using a trail access point in the town of Gorham. Utilizing a tracked side-by-side, Gorham EMS responded to the scene and transported Getsin back to the awaiting ambulance. Due to the severity of her injury, Getsin was transported to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin for further evaluation and treatment.

The operator was wearing a helmet; inexperience is considered the primary cause of the crash.
