Pelham, NH – At approximately 4:30 PM on Friday, March 8, 2019 New Hampshire Fish and Game personnel were notified of a crash involving a snowmobile and an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) by the Pelham Police Department.
The collision involved Gordon E. Hedgepeth, 28, of Haverhill, Massachusetts who was operating an ATV in a private gravel pit located near Route 38 in Pelham. Hedgepeth was operating at a slow rate of speed, on a straight and flat portion of trail, when he failed to yield to oncoming traffic, causing a head-on collision. The other operator was 14 years old, had previously completed a New Hampshire Fish and Game Off-Highway Recreational Vehicle safety course, and was operating a snowmobile at the time of the collision. Hedgepeth and members of his riding party called Pelham Police Department immediately after the crash. There was minor damage to each of the vehicles involved in the collision. Neither operator sustained any injuries.
NH Fish & Game would like to remind all riders to slow down and yield to the right for all oncoming traffic while operating an OHRV or snowmobile. Learn more at https://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/ohrv/index.html.
