BRIDGEWATER, NH – On the afternoon of Saturday, March 2, 2019 Conservation Officers with NH Fish and Game along with Bridgewtaer Fire/EMS Department, Bristol Fire Department, and Bristol Police responded to a snowmobile crash in Bridgewater.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Woodside Drive and Shore Drive. As the operator of the snowmachine attempted to navigate along a portion of paved road, the snowmachine inexplicably accelerated through the road intersection. When the snowmachine reached the snowbank on the far side of the road, it launched into some trees causing significant damage to the snowmachine and injured the operator. The operator’s injuries were serious but not life threatening and she was eventually transported by ambulance to Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth for evaluation.

The operator is identified as 51-year-old Cindy Letavec of Berlin, Connecticut. Mrs. Letavec was unable to explain why the snowmobile suddenly accelerated and advised that she had navigated through the same area a couple of times over the past few days with no issue. The crash is still under investigation at this time.
