CONWAY, NH – At 2:45 P.M. on Tuesday, February 19, 2019, a woman was injured when she lost control of her snowmobile and collided with a tree on Corridor 19. Hailey Johns, 22, of Springhill, FL misjudged a corner and went off trail striking a tree. Members of her riding party were able to call 911. Conway FD and Conway EMS responded and were able to travel 3 miles on the trail using their tracked UTV to the crash. She was transported by UTV to an awaiting ambulance.
Conway FD and Conway EMS responded to a second snowmobile crash on Red’s Trail at 3:00 on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. Another woman was injured when her snowmobile veered off trail and struck a tree. Jessica Pink, 34, of Carver, MA hit a large bump in the trail causing her to lose control of her snowmobile and veer off the trail and collide with a tree. Members of her riding party were able to call 911 and get her to an awaiting ambulance at the next road crossing. Upon receiving word of the incident, Conway EMS, and Conway PD responded to the scene.
Both riders were transported to Memorial Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. No further information is available at this time.
Both operators were wearing helmets and proper riding gear. Inexperience and exceeding rider capabilities are considered the primary causes of these crashes.
