KEENE, NH — On Sunday February 17, at approximately 3:47 pm, New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation Officers were notified of a single snowmobile crash that occurred on Lake Potanipo in Brookline, NH. The victim was identified as Michael Patti, age 37, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts.
Patti was operating a snowmobile on Lake Potanipo when he lost control of the machine which caused it to roll on top of him. Patti was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Patti was transported by helicopter to UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester where he is being treated for life threating injuries.
Conservation Officers were assisted by the Brookline Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police. Speed and alcohol may have been contributing factors. The crash remains under investigation, and there is no further information available at this time.
