Concord, NH — Educators and care providers of young children are invited to attend a workshop designed to connect children ages 3 – 7 with nature and the outdoors. The program will be held on Monday, February 18, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at New Hampshire Fish and Game Department Headquarters, 11 Hazen Drive in Concord.
Growing Up WILD: Exploring Nature with Young Children and Project Learning Tree’s Environmental Experiences for Early Childhood are supplementary education programs for young learners that build on children’s intrinsic curiosity about nature and invites them to explore wildlife, forests, and the world around them. Through a wide range of activities and experiences, children gain an early foundation for developing positive impressions about the natural world and lifelong social and academic skills.
Workshop participants will have an opportunity to sample activities from both programs that foster critical early childhood skill development and tap into children’s sense of wonder about the natural environment. Art, music, science, reading, and math are integrated in a variety of nature-based activities.
