BRISTOL, NH – The closure of the public boat ramp facility at Wellington State Park on Newfound Lake has been confirmed for Tuesday, October 9, to enable removal of the floating dock and pilings at the boat ramp. During this closure, both the cartop carry-in and trailer ramps will be within the safety zone setback of the crane and extraction area. For this reason the ramps will be closed that day, and there will be no opportunity to launch or retrieve motorized boats, sailboats, canoes, kayaks, or other self-propelled craft during this time. The entire parking area for the ramps will be closed to the public. The fee-based parking area for the beach at Wellington State Park will remain open based on the New Hampshire Department of Natural and Cultural Resources beach operating schedule and rules posted elsewhere.

New Hampshire’s Public Boat Access Program is funded through boat registration fees and federal Sport Fish and Wildlife Restoration funds. The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department’s Facilities, Construction, and Lands Division acquires land for public water access sites, refurbishes existing sites, and builds new public boat access areas.
