DURHAM, NH – The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department will hold a public hearing focusing on four proposed marine aquaculture license applications on Friday, September 28, 2018, at 9:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 10:00 a.m. at NH Fish and Game Department, Region 3 Office, 225 Main St, Durham, NH, 03824. The public is welcome to attend, and to offer comments on the proposed aquaculture plans.

At 9:00 a.m., Russell Hilliard and Conor Walsh of Swell Oyster Company will be heard on two applications. One application is to amend License #2018-32 to add 1.1 acre of bottom culture/suspended culture for oysters, soft shell clams, hard shell clams, scallops, and green sea urchins in Hampton/Seabrook Harbor, and to change their current 1.1 acre bottom culture site to bottom culture/suspended culture. The second application is to amend License #2018-33 to add scallops and green sea urchins.

At 9:30 a.m., Joshua and Jessica Carloni of Rising Tide Oyster Company will be heard on their application to amend License #2018-1 to add 1 acre of bottom culture for oysters, soft shell clams, and hard shell clams near the Scammell Bridge to their current 1 acre site.

At 10:00 a.m., Steve Weglarz of Cedar Point Oyster Farm, LLC, will be heard on his application to amend License #2018-8 to add 2 acres of bottom culture for oysters near the mouth of the Oyster River to his current 2 acre site.

Detailed plans for these projects are available for public review at www.fishnh.com/marine, or at the Department’s Region 3 office in Durham. Public comments on the proposed licenses may be submitted until October 12, 2018.
