CONCORD, N.H. — The NH Fish and Game Commission will meet on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at NH Fish and Game Headquarters, 11 Hazen Drive, in Concord. This special meeting has been called to consider the public comment received during the entire rulemaking process on the Final Proposal for the Wildlife Seasons Biennial Rulemaking package. This meeting is not an additional public hearing on this pending rulemaking proposal, therefore no public comment will be heard, nor is it an opportunity to file additional written comment.
The rules were initially reviewed by the Joint Legislative Committee on Administrative Rules (JLCAR) on June 15. At that time, the committee found that public comment received to that point had not been adequately considered. A fourth public hearing was held on June 20, 2018 with over 300 persons in attendance. Since June 15, over 250 additional written comments have also been received.
The purpose of this special meeting is to allow the Commission to review the additional comment received, and vote upon the text of a response to be filed with JLCAR on or before July 5, 2018. If that timetable is met, the rules will be brought before JLCAR on Thursday, July 19, 2018 for approval, which would permit certain wildlife seasons to be set.
Meetings of the New Hampshire Fish and Game Commission are open to the public. As they become available, meeting agendas and minutes are posted at www.wildnh.com/about/commission.html.
